Keighley engineering company plans for future growth with multiple LEP support
After contacting the LEP Growth Service, Keighley-based Global Precision Ltd was assigned one-to-one support from one of the LEP’s two Bradford based SME Growth Mangers and they have been working together since then.
Keighley-based Global Precision Ltd creates and manufactures bespoke engineering solutions from their Bradford base and sites in the United States and China.
Director, Andrew Sale, contacted the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) Growth Service in 2016 when they wanted to invest in larger premises to enable business growth. The business wanted to home-shore a larger proportion of their manufacturing operations – traditionally outsourced to Asia – by moving premises and increasing the production capacity of their plant.
After contacting the LEP Growth Service, the company was assigned one-to-one support from one of the LEP’s two Bradford based SME Growth Mangers, Mark Delves, and they have been working together since then.
Mark helped the company to identify suitable premises and assisted Andrew to apply for a capital grant through the LEP’s Business Growth Programme and as a result, Global Precision Ltd secured £50,000 alongside its own investment of £440,000 to purchase a range of new manufacturing kit.
The new manufacturing plant meant that the company was able to bring back some of its manufacturing from China to Leeds City Region, creating new jobs and contributing to the region’s economic growth.
Global Precision Ltd has also accessed training support from the LEP Skills Service, a package of support available for businesses to help develop the skills and expertise of their staff. This included funding to access and source the expert training needed to ensure ISO accreditation.
The dedicated support from Mark and investment from the LEP has led to increased efficiency of the manufacturing process and allowed the company to win new business as a result.
Director of Global Precision Ltd, Andrew Sale said:
“The on-going support we have received from the LEP has meant we have been able to plan for and meet our growth plans. We didn’t realise there was so much support out there for businesses in the region. Mark helped us to identify and access this support which has made a real difference to our bottom line.
The capital investment in our new premises has led to the creation of 5 new jobs and increased productivity which is good for both our business and the local area. “
