Leeds City Region supports new air link to Heathrow

Leeds Bradford Airport announced a new daily air service between Leeds-Bradford Airport and Heathrow due to begin on 9 December.

British Airways will offer four flights a day to the capital, linking the City Region economy to new and emerging markets. The flights are timed to offer convenient onward connections enabling Yorkshire-based customers to fly with British Airways from Leeds Bradford to key worldwide destinations such as Hong Kong, New York, Johannesburg, Singapore and Sydney.

Neil McLean, Chair of the Leeds City Region LEP said:

"LBIA is central to the future economic success of the Leeds City Region and our plans for growing the economy. The new link will create endless opportunitties for our businesses and enhance our international links to other economies."

John Parkin, Leeds-Bradford Airport Chief Executive and Leeds City Region LEP board member added:

"This link will make it easier for investors to bring their investment and inbound tourism directly into our region."
