The delegation which includes senior representatives from both the public and private sector and is being led by Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), will emphasise that the region is open for business and ready to talk to international developers, occupiers and investors
The international platform will be used to showcase the scale of development progress and profile future investment opportunities in the UK’s largest city region economy and population centre to investors, developers and occupiers.
The ambitious programme for MIPIM, which includes over 18 different events will be focused on profile raising activities, sharing the confidence and ambition of the Leeds City Region underlined by the scale of opportunities available within the UK’s largest city region economy outside of London.
Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the LEP, said:
“With a dynamic economy, vibrant urban hubs and outstanding standard of living, Leeds City Region is not just best for business but best for lifestyle and for talent.
I’m very much looking forward to taking this message to an international audience at MIPIM 2019 and inviting them to be part of our success.”
“In addition, I would like to say a big thank you to all of our private sector sponsors who make it possible for us to attend this global event and showcase our fantastic region.”
Cllr Susan Hinchcliffe, Leader of Bradford Council and Chair of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority said:
“MIPIM acts as a major platform to raise the profile of Leeds City Region and Bradford on the international stage.”
“The Combined Authority will be there showcasing the many opportunities that the Leeds City Region has in terms of investment including those in Bradford where we have a pipeline of several hundred thousand sq ft of Grade A commercial space being brought forward.”
“Bradford was also voted best city in the UK to start a business by Barclays and PwC have recently announced its new Bradford base for 2019 so there is lots on offer here that we want to showcase to a global audience at MIPIM.”
Chris Roberts, Chief Development Officer at Bruntwood said:
“We are very pleased to be part of the Leeds City Region delegation again this year and showcasing the many great opportunities across the region.”
“We are proud to be showcasing the success of Platform, a 13 storey re-imagined office building in Leeds city centre, standing directly above the train station to MIPIM this year. Bruntwood invested over £20 million to redevelop the building with work completing in September 2017 after having stood empty for a decade. It now offers stimulating and collaborative workspace for businesses of all shapes and sizes, accommodating the ever-evolving needs of a modern office”
“Platform isn’t just for those who work there; it’s a hub for the whole Leeds community and has already quickly established itself as a front door for Tech meet-ups and events.”
