Businesses check-in to capital route

Businesses in Leeds City Region were given the opportunity this month to sample the business benefits of the British Airways service from Leeds Bradford Airport to London Heathrow.

Businesses in the region joined a hosted day trip to London to experience the convenience of travelling locally from Leeds Bradford to the capital and beyond for business trips. Over 20 of the region’s businesses joined a series of familiarisation trips to demonstrate the ease of connectivity using the 3 times daily service between Leeds Bradford and London Heathrow.

Martin Wright, Director of Global Purchasing at OneSubsea in Leeds said:

“As one of the largest employers in Leeds and having a strong global presence in the Oil and Gas sector it is vital that we have a well-connected Leeds Bradford Airport.

“The addition of the BA flight directly to terminal 5 at London Heathrow provides a significant benefit principally for our international travellers who can avoid the lengthy and sometimes difficult motorway journey to and from Manchester. With easy car parking, the LBA to Heathrow route also makes for a much easier and preferable option for our Yorkshire based travellers who have voiced their approval wholeheartedly.”

The group took off from Leeds Bradford on the morning departure at 09:35, arriving in to London Heathrow just one hour later. On touch-down the group took the Heathrow Express giving them access to central London, where they spent the day sampling the capital’s leisure offering before flying back to Leeds Bradford that evening.
