Congratulations to Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the LEP, on his appointment as Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire

Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), has been appointed to the prestigious role of Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire.

Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), has been appointed to the prestigious role of Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire. The highly respected and influential position has been assigned by Ed Anderson, HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Yorkshire.  Roger will assist the Lord-Lieutenant in carry out his role as The Queen’s Representative.

As Chair of the LEP, Roger played a leading role in securing the country’s largest Growth Deal that has brought over £1bn of investment into the Leeds City Region. The funding has supported a range of projects and programmes designed to contribute to an overall ambition of unlocking the City Region’s potential to be the growth engine for the North and rebalancing the nation’s economy.

Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP) said: ““I’ve had the great privilege of serving this region for many decades now; in professional services, through my role as LEP Chair and more recently as Chair of the Piece Hall Trust.

“Our region is an amazing place to live, work and visit and its people are burning with promise. I’m proud and honoured to have the opportunity to do even more to champion West Yorkshire and Leeds City Region as Deputy Lieutenant, alongside my colleague Nicky Chance-Thompson.”
