Apprenticeship Support

Apprenticeships give you the opportunity to shape your staff in way that’s best for them and best for your business. If you’re looking to take on an apprentice then support and funding is available. If you’re a small or medium sized business based in Leeds City Region, we can help you find the best route to take on an apprentice.

Finding the right people isn’t always easy, but apprenticeships give you the opportunity to shape your staff in way that’s best for them and best for your business.

Why take on an apprentice?

Hiring an apprentice is a great way to grow and future-proof your business, and train staff in the skills that you and your business need.

Apprenticeships are now available in over 1,500 occupations across 170 industries, ranging from nuclear to fashion, law, banking and defence. They offer high quality training that in many cases can lead to higher education-level qualifications.

Recruiting an apprentice can have a positive impact on your business by allowing you to recruit the talent you need and tailor skill-sets, while keep training costs low.

Research conducted with local businesses that have experience working with apprentices between the ages of 18 - 24 found:

  • 78% said hiring an apprentice improved productivity
  • 83% said they would recommend an apprentice to another business
  • 86% said that their apprentice helped to fill skill gaps
