SMEs based or investing in the Leeds City Region can access a range of funding options from business loans, to invoice finance and to trade finance from over 130 finance providers with just one simple online application. It’s totally free, easy to use and without any commitments.

Finpoint uses algorithmic matchmaking technology to find the most relevant funders while a team of finance experts as well as our partner PwC (optional) provide a comprehensive investor readiness review to ensure that your application is as successful as it can possibly be.


The Finpoint business finance platform supports small and medium sized businesses to secure the funding they need to grow. It helps businesses to navigate a complex funding market to find the right lender for them.

The Finpoint platform allows the business to prepare one funding application that can be shared anonymously with over 130 lenders including banks, specialist finance houses and alternative finance providers. The service is provided at no cost to the business and covers a variety of financial products including:

  • Business loan – a flexible way to fund growth projects while keeping the cost of finance predictable
  • Leasing or hire purchase – subject to the tax position of your business, it may be more cost effective to lease equipment rather than to purchase it outright
  • Invoice finance – improve the cash flow of your business without jeopardising client relationships
  • Trade finance – ideal for businesses that import or export goods and require finance to grow – or any form of supply chain finance

The process

Complete the process in in four easy steps:

Step 1 – Online application: Applicants register via the Finpoint platform and fill in the finance application. The form covers 85% of the information each and every lender will ask you for and the beauty is you will only need to fill it in once to compare multiple lenders.

Step 2 – Completeness review: Prior to releasing your anonymised information to potential funders, the information applicants provide will be sent to PwC who will contact applicants to give feedback on the completeness of the information that has been uploaded.

Step 3 – Interested funders notification: Once applicants are satisfied that their finance application is complete, an anonymised summary will be submitted to potential lenders. The funders can then express an interest and the applicant will be alerted about the funders that are interested.

Step 4 – Compare and negotiate: Applicants decide which of the interested funder(s) they wish to speak to - this ensures that the applicant is always in control of the process.

There is support available throughout an applicant’s use of the Finpoint platform, to help use and get the most out of the system.

Any business that is located in the Leeds City Region can use the Finpoint platform to apply for funding.
