What is the Digital Skills Partnership?

The West Yorkshire Local Digital Skills Partnership launched October 2020 as part of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority's ambitious devolution deal. The partnership provides a unique and exciting opportunity to influence the digital skills landscape across our region.

What is the purpose of this partnership?

The Partnership brings together passionate digital advocates and leaders from business, education, local communities and charity sector organisations, that recognise the growing importance of digital skills to businesses and residents in the Leeds City Region, to create collaborative partnerships to support the region's vision to transform lives through digital tech.

Our Local Digital Skills Partnership focuses on inspiring change and tackles the local digital skills challenges, with the aspirations:

  • To transform digital skills through adoption across SMEs in Leeds City Region to grow the local economy and boost productivity   
  • To inspire and influence the workforce of the future by collaborating with educators and employers to ensure the future generation have the skills to meet the needs of the economy
  • To inspire the growth of digital skills across the Leeds City Region by reducing the digital divide to create opportunities for all

Digital support available for businesses

  1. Amazon Small Business Accelerator

    Amazon and Enterprise Nation and are offering free online training for 200,000 new and existing small businesses, to help them start-up or scale-up. The training covers a range of topics, from finding a business idea, marketing on social media, selling on Amazon, creating a website, hiring a team, and more.

  2. Digital Boost

    Digital Boost is helping people who work for and lead small businesses and charities to learn digital skills, so their organisations survive and drive the UK economic recovery.
