The Key Fund is a loan fund that supports social enterprise and business with a positive social or environmental impact at its heart.
Overview
The Key Fund is a social enterprise providing tailored loan investments of up to £150,000 to businesses with a social or environmental mission, throughout the North of England.
The fund aims to ‘break down the barriers to accessing finance’. All its investments are to entrepreneurs unable to access finance from banks or other mainstream lenders.
The Key Fund offers loans from £5,000 – £150,000 for:
- capital expenditure on assets including the purchasing and renovation of buildings
- cash flow and working capital to manage time differences between spending and receiving money
- development capital to help social businesses grow or replicate.
Am I eligible?
Your organisation will need to be (or intend to be) a registered company with income-generating activities. A positive social or environmental mission must be at the heart of your work. Security may be required on loans upwards of £50,000.
