Statement from West Yorkshire Combined Authority and LEP following last night�s attack at Manchester Arena
Speaking about last night’s attack in Manchester, Ben Still, Managing Director of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, said:
“On behalf of the Combined Authority and our City Region partners, I send our deepest condolences to the people of Manchester following last night’s terrible events.
“We stand in solidarity with this great city and will provide whatever support we can to our neighbours and colleagues in Manchester in the days and weeks ahead.
“People across Leeds City Region will be saddened by these events but determined to assist all those affected and the city of Manchester.We will continue to share contact information, updates and travel information so that anyone affected by this attack can find the support they need.”
Roger Marsh, Chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership (LEP), said:
"During this period of darkness for the community of Manchester, we in Leeds City Region extend our deepest sympathies to those families who have lost loved ones and good wishes to those recovering from their injuries.
"Echoing the words of others, in spite of last night’s shocking event, we must all remember: we are Northerners and we will stand strong, together."
