COVID-19: support for the creative industries

There are a number of schemes providing support for businesses and individuals in the creative industries. This help and support is specifically for you and accommodates a range of needs. See the below funding available.

Indie TV and Film Development Fund
The LEP and Screen Yorkshire join forces to support independent production companies in Leeds City Region. The Fund totalling £200,000, will distribute awards of between £2,500 and £25,000, to help independent TV and film production companies to develop new content. It is funded by the West Yorkshire Combined Authority and the LEP through its new Creative Catalyst programme which was established in response to Channel 4’s relocation to Leeds and broadcaster commitment to increase commissioning in the Nations and Regions.
Applications open Thursday 14 May 2020. Application close: 12 noon Friday 5 June 2020. 
BFI Film Continuation Fund

£2m fund for independent UK Productions interrupted by Covid-19 to help cover unexpected production costs. This will help to ensure productions are in the best position to resume when it’s possible and practical to do so.

Full details and guidelines to be announced end of April, which will be promoted on the BFI website and social channels.

BFI FAN (Film Audience Network) Covid-19 Resilience Fund

£1m BFI FAN COVID-19 Resilience Fund for the independent exhibition sector; to alleviate some pressure for exhibitors and festivals that have faced immediate closure and cancellations.

The Fund is for critical relief and business continuity available to exhibitors across the whole of the UK.

Arts Council Emergency Response Package

Arts Council England (ACE) are making up to £90 million available to National Portfolio Organisations (NPOs) and Creative People and Places (CPPs) lead organisations.

Applications open: 12pm 12 May 2020 and close: 12pm 19 May 2020

Heritage Emergency Fund

Funding from £3,000 to £50,000. Aimed at owners, managers or representatives of heritage, who are also not-for-profit and have accessed a heritage grant from the Heritage Fund before.

The Authors’ Emergency Fund

The Authors Licencing and Collecting Society (ALCS), the Royal Literary Fund (RFL), the T.S Eliot Foundation in partnership with English PEN and Amazon UK have contributed financial resources to create the Author's Emergency Fund; to help support authors impacted by Covid-19.

Open to all authors resident in the UK or British citizens to meet urgent need with the possibility of review as the situation continues.
