Enterprise Adviser NETWORK

The Enterprise Adviser Network is our route to equipping our City Region's young people with the employability skills they need to support and inspire their career aspirations. We do this by connecting senior leaders in business to senior leaders in schools, to influence and develop the school's career and enterprise strategy, giving students regular and relevant access to employers.

Since 2015 our Enterprise Adviser Network has recruited and trained over 110 business leaders as Enterprise Advisers, helped to create 50 employer engagement strategies with schools and reached over 3,500 students across the City Region.

Research shows that young people who have multiple encounters with business (four or more) are five times less likely to become NEET and will earn, on average, 16% more than those who do not. By increasing employer interactions through our Enterprise Adviser Network, we are working to safeguard the skills pipeline of our economy and support our future workforce.

Become an Enterprise Adviser

The role of the Enterprise Adviser is a strategic one; bringing real business experience to schools and their young people. Enterprise Advisers are senior leaders in business with experience of senior level engagement and strategy.

Employers can benefit from becoming part of the Enterprise Adviser Network in a number of ways, primarily:

  • the programme can form part of the business' corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment;
  • the programme gives the business the opportunity to interact with their future consumers as well as their future workforce;
  • some businesses have reported increased employee engagement as a result of the programme; and
  • the programme allows employers to support their local economy.
