Our #techgoals campaign aims to improve digital teaching in schools through the development of teachers and their digital resources, the increase in curricular and extracurricular learning opportunities for our City Region’s young people and through the profiling of our City Region’s future careers opportunities and their pathways to pupils and their influencers.

#techgoals is here

Our #techgoals initiative is the first of its kind in the UK. It works to enhance the teaching and learning of digital skills in the classroom to ensure our next generation of tech leaders are inspired and informed about the skills they need for future careers opportunities in the City Region.

Teachers from both primary and secondary can access our free learning resources on lcrtechgoals.com to help them bring tech to life across a range of subjects. Resources include topics on cyber security; app, game and web design; coding (HTML5, CSS and Javascript); data analytics; wearable tech; and social media.

Modules available on lcrtechgoals.com include:

  • Countdown to chaos! Learn about cyber security and catch the hacker before the lights go out.
  • Data Analytics with SAS UK: a disease has broken out amongst Year 8. Can you use the data to find a cure before the whole school becomes ill?
  • IBM Wimbledon: design and build an app for a new player at Wimbledon! Can you help them navigate the huge Lawn Tennis Grounds and get to the final on time?

Alongside the resources we are also holding free CPD events across the City Region to enable secondary teachers to make the best use of the website and to allow them to hear from our City Region's digital employers such as Sky, Telefonica O2 and Huawei. Uniquely, teachers attending these events will be able to claim back up to £300 for release and cover time. Find your nearest event here or search #techgoals.
